HOPE: a wordless autobiography

Limited edition of twelve copies. 15 colour linocuts printed by Yaron on Arches 200gsm using the reduction method. Printed endpapers. Concertina binding in black cloth,held in black cloth-covered slipcase. Linocuts recessed into the covers of binding and slipcase. Size of book: 20.5 x 15cms

Told in images alone, the story of a man whose destiny as an artist (symbolized by a red balloon) was blocked by the obstacles of ordinary life. The balloon follows the man throughout his childhood, into school, military service, university, marriage, fatherhood and office work, never allowing him to forget his true calling. One day, the man escapes from the labyrinth of routine, flying out of the image. The balloon pulls him up to the heights of art and hope is fulfilled. (The entire story is shown below)
